I think American's should travel more. It would help them appreciate just how amazing the United States actually is. This morning I took an Uber to the cargo terminal to pick up my bike. I was amazed as to how incredibly efficient the whole process was. It only took about ten minutes and I was on my way back to the warehouse. There were dozens of forklifts whizzing around. I asked the warehouse manager if they could put my bike near a dumpster so that I could unpackaged it and dispose of the packing materials. He said that they would just put it to one side of the loading dock and I could unpackaged it there. "Just leave the packing material on the empty pallet and we'll take care of it". A few minutes later Tiggrr rolled through the door hoisted on the front of a forklift.

It took me about an hour to unpackage the bike, roll it off its pallet, reconnect the battery, properly inflate the tires, repack the panniers and change back into my riding gear (which was still wet from my rainy ride to the airport in Argentina). While I was working about a dozen dock workers and truck drivers stopped by to look at the bike and ask where I was headed. When I told them that I had just arrived back from riding to the tip of South America they were blown away to say the least. "Dude! That's crazy! You are a crazy dude!" an elderly truck driver said as he slapped me on the back. "Alone?! You are a crazy dude!"

I got on the road at about 12:30 but I was not feeling my best. I had not slept well the last two days and I was feeling sluggish. It was great to be back on the bike but I knew I wasn't going to make it very far today. I set my sights on reaching San Antonio which took a little under 5 hours. Far enough.

When I arrived I went directly to the grocery store to buy the one thing I have been craving for weeks. A fresh green salad. Mmmm so good!
