I was a little off my game this morning and could not decide what I wanted to do. After breakfast, I ran some errands. I needed to find an ATM and fill up with petrol. I finally decided to ride out to San Pedro de Atacama because I found a place that I could camp. I haven't camped since I was In Panama and I thought it would give me a good opportunity to have a rest day.

It was less than a two hour ride and it looked like I had landed on Mars. San Pedro is one of the driest places on earth with an average annual rainfall of only 4mm. It so much resembles the surface of Mars that NASA tests its rovers here.

Besides sitting in my chair and relaxing this afternoon, I spent the day going through my gear, inspecting the bike and looking at maps. I'm hoping to get a little better sleep tonight and to be ready to roll early tomorrow morning.
